SEE WHICH COURSE
IS BEST FOR YOU

Any of the Basic or Intermediate/ICC courses can be taken as a private course or on your boat. We can combine levels if feasible.

I have never been on a boat

The basic level is right for new sailors you can get your Pleasure Craft operators card too!

I am new to sailing

The basic level is right for new sailors.

I am a dinghy Sailor but not sailed keelboats

Although many of the aspects of keelboat sailing are the same as a dinghy there are important differences we recommend a Basic course

I have some experience racing or cruising in a keelboat

It depends on your experience level it’s probably best to contact us for a course recommendation, most people find they learn something new even in a Basic course.

I have extensive keelboat racing experience

Although the sailing aspects of the course will come easy to you there are other aspect of cruising which may be new, it’s probably best to contact us for a course recommendation, most people find they learn something new even in a Basic course

I own my own keelboat or have extensive cruising experience

You are probably ready for Intermediate Cruising, If you don’t have Basic you will need to challenge that level which can be done in an Intermediate course there is a small up-charge for the additional Basic Certification. You should also  take a Basic Coastal Navigation course which is a required prerequisite for Intermediate. If you plan on Sailing in Europe you should consider taking an International Certificate of Competence options are to combine it with Intermediate or take a stand alone ICC challenge course

I have completed my Basic a year or two ago but have not sailed since
It’s probably best that you refresh your skills and re-take the Basic. A case of “If you don’t use it you lose it”.
I have completed my Basic and have some sailing experience since

Congratulations you are ready to take Intermediate If you don’t have it you will need to take  a Basic Coastal Navigation course in preparation for Intermediate. We offer Navigation Courses at Learntocruiseonline.ca

I am an experienced Sailor and want to Charter In Europe

You will probably need an International Certificate of Competence to skipper a charter boat. We can issue ICC based on a weekend challenge of the standard or it can be combined with an Intermediate course. See our ICC page
